Podrobnosti k pozorování
As soon as the bird appeared at the feeder, I knew it was a Selasphorus. We watched from inside the house for 1 hour+. The bird came into the feeder twice during that time. We then ventured outdoors to see if we could locate where it was perching when not at the feeder. After scanning the yard for 15 minutes or so, I used playback of Rufous calls and the bird immediately came in, buzzing our heads, perching in different trees/shrubs around the yard. It did not respond to Allen’s playback. Sue Barth obtained photos that she will attach to this checklist. The bird appears to be an adult female or an immature male by the greenish back, rufous wash to sides of breast and white tips on outer rectrices as well as a few colored lower gorget feathers. The homeowners are open to visitors. Due to the VERY limited parking situation you MUST PREARRANGE your visit with Gerry and Joyce by phone. Their house number is (585) 495-6873.
