Podrobnosti k pozorování
Interesting herring type. Overall the same size as surrounding herring, but with a darker mantle. Mantle shade basically matching the surrounding CAGU. First considered light mantled LBBG, but this bird had bright fleshy pink legs, just like surrounding AHGU’s. Considered Thayers but Head shape looked herring; flat and mean. Bill looked dainty and thin(Thayers like)but also bright yellow. Iris bright yellow. Primaries fully grown. White mirrors small, far too small for Thayers. Could not make out orbital ring color. Tertial crescents and mantle color not right for WEGU or SBAG. Will add some digis, although they are quite deceiving. They make the bird look much farther than it was. I was able to make out individual primaries through the scope with my own eye. Mantle shade not a trick of light. Watched for several minutes where it wandered around between CAGU and AHGU rummaging through the dump. VEGA? LBBG X AHGU? Is AHGU mantle variable? Some other dumb herring hybrid? Lord knows
