Saw an owl-shaped something perched on a horizontal branch and a Bewick's wren scolding. With the binoculars I could confirm it was an actual owl and not a pinecone. Then it flew a couple feet away to a different perch while other songbirds also started harassing it. It flew across the trail and perched for a moment before going to a new perch, and another and another as the songbirds (probably about 7 of them) continued to scold it. The owl stayed in the same area for about 15 minutes while we admired it. A few ladies passed by and also got a look at the owl.
