Podrobnosti k pozorování
Wild! I had just stepped outside to check for activity in the yard and spotted a very high flying, south-bound, medium-sized passerine that immediately triggered alarm bells, as general size, shape, and flight pattern didn't seem to match anything expected. Had to run to get a clearer view and fire off a few quick shots. Photos clearly indicate yellow-bellied kingbird species, and the very long, narrow, hooked primary tips are most consistent with WEKI, which would also be the most expected species here in general. The fact that white edging to outer rectrices can't really be made out in the photos doesn't seem surprising given the distance, backlighting, and the way the tail is being held closed. Undertail appears quite dark, bill seems small and contrast between yellow breast and grayish chin isn't very stark, pointing to WEKI, although the reliability of assessing those marks given the quality of the photos is dubious. Adding a very underexposed photo to better see the shape of the primary tips.
