Podrobnosti k pozorování
A couple SESA that stood out. Attached photos. One very bright, notably rufous bird that just didn't quite seem right for WESA... but seemed way too bright for SESA.... Little less pale and contrasting for WESA, bill slightly drooping to a point, but not terribly long. Overall bird's plumage seemed a little to "dirty" to be a WESA but perhaps a fresher juv. male? One individual was cleaner breasted and lighter faced, and very bright but a tad more orange-y than rufous and shorter billed. Lower scapulars had an anchor quality to them which threw me off a bit. One incredibly crisp individual had me pretty excited until I looked at the photos of its feet. All the birds I was curious about had webbing between their toes so I didn't get too carried away! Calidris are tough...
