Podrobnosti k pozorování
We found a line of trees with many flowers that were being visited my number of Sparkling Violet-ears and a couple of Lazuline Sabrewings. Two Short-tailed Emeralds and six Chestnut-bellied hummingbirds were perching on trees and shrubs up to 20 yards away from the flowers, then making visits to the flowers which lasted until a Violet-ear chased them away. Typical Amazilias with rich rufous-chestnut tail and rather pale cinnamon-chestnut underparts (pale ones females ?) below a shining green throat and upper chest. Rest of head and back shining green; dark wings with thin band of chestnut across secondaries (not illustrated in any of the field guides - ?);lower back and rump a pale cinnamon with scattered green feathers.
