Two adults together on the water on the top of the bank at 33.040546,-118.436107. Large white tern-like birds with bright red bills, long white tail streamers, black outer primaries, black barring on the back, and a black line through the eye. Yellow legs with black webbing. The birds stayed with each other throughout as we approached to within 50 feet, and one bird then flew over us for a while as we left. One bird was noticeably bigger than the other. One bird called to the other: a "kek-kek-kek" call reminiscent of a Clapper Rail.
