Podrobnosti k pozorování
300m, 7.10 It was all dark and was about to rain, Though the half-moon still hung high. There were fireflies in the sky. I was heading down the mountain, Absorbed in cricket sounds, when I suddenly heard a low, deep wolfing coming from down ahead. At first I thought it were wild dogs and was instantly on my guard. But then it struck me and I realized in amazement that it were the Himalayan owl! The forest wasn't dense at all in these parts of the mountain so previously I discharged all possibility that they could turn up here and dedicated all my search to the north slope, without any result. Judging from what I saw at daytime, It was the thin strip of forest at the very bottom of of the valley that probably held the hunting ground of the owls. The footpath is Nearly at the bottom of the valley just Brushing through the edge of the strip of forest. They called for at least a dozen rounds(each round whoool-- hhohhhhhol--), And then the sound ceased. I have no idea whether they were breeding here or whether they were just passers by. Forest type: 坡密生黄荆与皂荚,至沟中树冠迭起成一小丛沿山谷延伸的黑弹树-臭椿林,树多年轻,面貌远不及坡北成熟森林 Recorded well.
