At 6:28 saw adult on shore of island on bit of mud, it flew up and perched in shrub top for less than a minute then I lost sight of it. At 6:42 it called (2-3 notes),trying to land on shrub tops on its island, gave up and flew over and landed in sedges on island closer to road and creek mouth. Out of sight. 6:59 rises up calling from south side of big channel, does a big circle over its islands, then lands on far side of most recent island, across from Spsa perch stick. 7:09 oowit call 2x. 7:17 called briefly, lifted up, back down into sedges. Again Lifted up, down but on far, original island. Same direction from my beach viewpoint, could have flown low across without me seeing it. 7:31 lifts up and down again and lands in the sedges right beside the shrubs. Stands there. Bad digiscope pic of head (including photo to show habitat). Lost sight of it. 7:40 up again, brief call, down again in similar area but not same spot. 7:44 up and flying towards creek mouth/corner, out of sight. But a minute or 2 later the sbigs are all screaming at a fox and the sbdo reappears, flies around with them (2 bad flight pics), lands towards n end of its long island, then returns to previous sedges area at 7:49. I hear brief calls at 7:57 and 8:04 and 8:18 but don’t see the bird. All calls have been du du-like but brief, 2-3 notes. Other than original spot on mud, all landings seen were in sedge or on shrub tops
