Heard a strange loud trilling sound, rather like an immature raptor crossed with a loud Long-tailed Tit. At the edge of the field as I approached I could see a Magpie standing next to a small bird on the grass of a school field, I then found it was this juv Cuckoo which remained at the spot for a few minutes opening it's mouth occasionally, I took a few photos and it flew very well across the field to some Oak trees which was a relief. The Magpie(s) remained in the Oaks above me and may have pursued the bird, Blackbirds were also alarming at the time.
