A recently discovered (2024) colony at this side channel of the Willamette River. I found it to be a fairly sizable colony that was hard to count. The still photo has about twenty-three Bank Swallows in it and I know some birds were in the holes. I think this is a reasonable estimate of the total number of birds considering the other sections of the bank had holes with swallows and also birds were flying over the river.
