Large bodied bird with small head and crest, long tail with bands. The grouse was at this location for nearly the entire summer. It would break out of the undergrowth whenever a car or walker went by, and it did not appear to have any fear of humans, as indicated by the photo. This photo was taken in 2018 of a Ruffled Grouse that stayed in the intersection of Savage Highland and North Rim Drive for a couple of months.
