A wonderful encounter. Three birds together. Large headed wren-like bird with a broad and blunt-tipped tail carried cocked most of the time. Upper side of the base of the tail bright rufous/chestnut. Bold dark striations on a pale buff breast. Pale eyebrow and a bold dark eye. Heard the 'splick' contact calls and also snatches of song. Seen in and around melaleuca shrubbery and tussocky grasses.
