Podrobnosti k pozorování
**Mega** Hybrid - continuing unique rarity making numerous visits to nest in shelter #2. Sharp looking "whizball" with intermediate traits of both parent species. At initial sighting one would assume BASW as with associating group in nesting area. But with diligent study of fieldmarks ie. Large buffy rump patch , dark throat on unique rusty and blue facial pattern. One can see the assembly of both species. Shallow forked tail sans outer streamers of Barn , but nut the subtle square notch of Cliff and with only outer two retrices with pale spots.Metallic blue back and brownish toned primaries with under wings dirty white with rusty undertones. Even with steady on and off rain, activity to the nesting area was frenetic. At least a couple times it appeared " CliffBar" returned to nest carrying food. This gives consideration of monitoring for what progeny may be produced with this probable pairing with pure female Barn swallow. Despite being a "hybrid" the sheer scarcity of ebird reports makes this remarkable bird found by Devin and Katelyn; very exciting nevertheless. Photos TBA.
