One male specimen on 12 June (1911, prob.), at nesting site, in reeds by the river. (Lynes, 1914: 182). The species was described to science by Pere David in 1872, from specimens obtained by Pere Heude in Nanjing, c. 40 miles upriver (i.e. west) of where this report is mapped (ibid.: 177). Lynes, H.
