Podrobnosti k pozorování
Heard without realizing what they were, but we recorded them, and following a suggestion from Curtis, now identify them as cliff swallows. Seen poorly at dusk -- and not well enough to identify visually. NS: We saw two birds flying around the area, making what we immediately thought were Brotogeris parakeet-like calls (??!), but on listening to the recording again, they sounded familiar but we couldn't place them. Curtis identified them as Cliff swallows, which fits well. All I could make out in the poor light (at 6:07 pm, 30 min after sunset) was pale birds (colors impossible to make out in the reflected moonlight and everything was grayscale), with very erratic flight with rapid changes in direction. I got a poor short recording, and Lance got longer recordings. Both attached recordings are the same recording, one trimmed to just these birds. A Spotted Towhee also calling.
