Podrobnosti k pozorování
***Very rare, continuing bird found last night by Woody Goss and Kurt Ayalp and relocated this morning by Brian Beauchene and John Parker. Somewhat tricky individual but nice prolonged views on the water and on ice allowed for confirmation. About the same size as HERGs (if not a little larger), smaller than GBBG, and noticeably larger than LBBG (as determined via direct comparison). Shaped more or less like the HERGs, but bulkier and shorter-winged than the LBBGs. Minimal warm buffy blurry head streaking with denser dark marks around the pale eye. Somewhat short bill, a bit paler yellow around the base. Very dark gray mantle, close to black, contrasting sharply with the broad white tertial crescent. Pink legs clear once it flew onto the ice. Never in prolonged flight, but stretched a few times to reveal a nice string of pearls on the outer primaries and a large white subterminal tip on p10. Will add photos. Love that this is a white dot here
