Podrobnosti k pozorování
screenshots from a video (which includes one vocalization). I originally thought this was Flappet Lark but in discussion with Per Alström it also is Red-winged Lark of the Kidepo form (soon to be known as Kidepo Lark) specially because of the long slender bill (parallax and sharpness converge in one of the photos to reveal this feature), supercilium too well-marked (compare with eBird photos of Flappet Lark), call (Per Alström says it matches the only recording he has of Kidepo Lark and is different from other larks except perhaps the Athi form of Rufous-naped--which does not occur in Uganda) and too-rufous lesser wing coverts. The markings on breast are not rounded spots because it is a worn bird (cf Zimmerman et al. field guide). I originally identified the bird in the first 3 photos as Rufous-naped Lark. Long bill narrows the identification down to Rufous-naped or Red-winged Larks. Rather long tail, much black mottling on left side of breast and range converge to id it as Red-winged. Resembles ssp kidepoensis (which is the expected one) in Macaulay Library ML 205177411
