Continuing. Mottled/striped White/tan/ rusty/brown/black uppers. Dark eye. Anterior throat/ chin/upper chest golden tan. Decurved bill. Small white patch behind eye & along bill. Rusty tail terminal black>/white thin bands. Slightly spiky crown. Vertical white lateral striPing. By Linda. Will add photos. Grouse may have been under the blind when we arrived. It walked out towards me from the far side of the blind and I eased to the ground, staying still. It wasn’t aggressive but walked across the path slowly. We stayed quiet as it foraged a bit. Bikers and another birder did get its attention, but it was never aggressive. What a memorable few minutes for a life bird for me. Susan
