Podrobnosti k pozorování
Very small shore bird and first picture shows size comparison with Avocet. Sandpiper is to the right next to bush. I wouldn't have noticed this bird but he flew in my field of view while glassing other birds. Head has rufous colored crown, ear patch and rufous feathers at the base of scapulars. White supraloral, throat and belly. Spotted chest and some spots on sides of flank. Black legs and feet. Black tapered bill with slightly drooped end of bill which can be seen in photos. When bird flew white stripes were visible on dark wings. Similar to the Semipalmated Sandpiper except for standout rufous crown, ear patch and rufous on back. Shape of bill also different.
