Podrobnosti k pozorování
Continuing bird, reported by many others over the last 3 days. The bird seems to have settled into thte east side of the lake, moving as far south as the marina area and as far north as the most northern playground on the east side and was mixed in with large schools of Ring-Billed Gulls and a few Herring Gulls. The bird was found on the shore and I was able to get good close photos. As reported by others, the bird was much larger than the Ring-Billed Gulls and slightly larger than nearby Herring Gulls, and was noted to have a more prominent chest/belly. It had a black/very dark gray back with mild streaking of the head, which is consistent with a non-breeding Slaty-Backed. The face had a whitish eye with a prominent yellow bill with a red spot on the lower bill. The white tertial edges of the wingtips were noted on the bird. The legs were clearly seen and were a bright pink. Several photos attached
