Podrobnosti k pozorování
Heard only as the bird was flying over from west to east across the peninsula. I was not far from the parking spot, just south of the power lines. I could not find it but heard the two-noted call repeated at least 8-10 times during the observation period. I turned on Merlin when I first heard the bird because I didn't recognize the vocalization. Merlin identified the bird. The call type matches with Merlin's first listed call type, a plaintive, two-noted 'queedle.' In most of the doublets, the first note of each note pair was higher than the second note, but sometimes these notes were at about the same pitch. I also verified what I heard with other vocalizations from other apps, and compared what I'd heard to Black-bellied Plover as well. I add an audio, which I tried to clean in Audacity by removing low frequency noise and normalizing the frequency to make the vocalization louder.
