Last accepted record for Texas, with at least 2 birds present during the period 24 March - 15 April 1962. Photographs courtesy Don Bleitz and are perhaps the only photos of live birds of this species. See also Rose Ann Rowlett's account on this day (https://ebird.org/checklist/S82770431) where she indicates that Mr. Bleitz was present. His photos are usually just attributed to be taken in "March 1962" so the photos may not be from this day but perhaps they were, given that he was present.
