Poznámky
Lots of lawnmower and airplane noise, plus voices of excited birders make this not a great recording. Added due to rarity of the bird.
Podrobnosti k pozorování
Continuing after being found yesterday. This was a active and relatively easy to see bird for at least about 15 minutes of my visit. I noted a yellow-green side and top of head and back with a yellow throat and chest, and yellow spectacles around the eye and through the lores. The belly and vent was white, the back was a pale gray, and the wings were brown, contrasting with the back. The bird had two relatively faint and irregular white wing bars. The all black bill was a typical thick vireo bill with a hook. The legs and feet were also all black. The bird was active, frequently foraging 15 to 20 feet off the ground in sycamores. For a while, it wenT high into a much larger tree (an elm?) where it sang repeatedly. It also gave its raspy call a few times. Photos and marginal audio to come.
