Looks like a Spizella species; a Chipping Sparrow based on the prominent eyeline that that runs from the ear right through the eye to the base of the bill. It had a weak malar stripe and a white throat. It did not have a plain or open-faced appearance, the eyeline dominated its facial pattern. I did not detect any buffy tones on its breast. Did not see its rump well, but the images show a hint of a gray rump. All these field marks point to Chipping Sparrow vs. Clay-colored Sparrow.
