Adult male. Remarks: We encountered two males on a tree at about seven in the morning. Upon noticing us they started making alarm calls (short grunts, we recorded this). Later, after three hours or so, while passing the same spot we noticed a large pheasant chick (too big to be that of a partridge) which ran in a bush. We heard the same alarm call from the bush where it disappeared and thus think that it was a Tragopan chick. I could not photograph the chick because of the pouring rain. - AS .
