Podrobnosti k pozorování
🔴 first for Seneca County! First spotted alone on water very distantly, where it seemed to point its wingtips higher up and pick at the water more actively than a RBGU. Waited a few minutes for bird to fly and it was a Sabines! Lost it again for 15 minutes and picked it up later on where I had better views during several brief flights. Eventually it landed on the water in front of a gray house with two stone stairwells down a big lawn to a breakwall, and a willow tree to the north. Bird stayed here until dark, where only noticeable feature was darker gray mantle compared to RBGUs and smaller size. Those searching in morning could try from Waterloo treatment plant or state park or visitor center, and try to catch it during the mass morning exodus of gulls just before sunrise.
