Podrobnosti k pozorování
at Spud Point around noon. Golden-Plover with about 12 Black-bellied Plovers. Shertern than Black-bellies with smaller bill. Plumage more golden, or brown-colored that Black-bellieds. Really wanted it tl be a Pacific because Ohio client really wanted Pacific Golden-Plover as a life bird. However, the tertials that were visible were quite short. It appeared that it had a couple tertials tucked in other a few others, exposing at least 7 primaries. But, if you look at the longest tertial, there are 4 primaries expending beyond it. You cannot tell where the end of the tail is. Other features include the very white supercilium that is whiter and wider behind the eye. There also is almost no contrast between the chest and belly - giving the bird a fairly uniform dark underparts look. Very windy. photo blurry but the primaries are edged in white, so one can see where the primaries are on the bird.
