Podrobnosti k pozorování
First observed at 6:10am in the NE quadrant around the pond. After a few minutes the bird took flight and dove into the wetland in the SW quadrant. We stared at the marsh for a little while before I noticed it flush from the SW quadrant, only to touch back down in the SW quadrant. We saw it perched in the SW for ~15 minutes as it stood and periodically fed. We noticed it became alert all of a sudden - standing tall, neck outstretched - it then took off again, landing back in the NE quadrant where we had originally observed it (this was at 7:00am when it flew). Between 7:00am and ~9:45am I watched it as it fed around the outside edges of the NE quadrant pond. Often it would disappear into the grasses or go around a hidden corner of the pond only to reappear sometime later. At 9:45am while watching the bird with a group of people, the bird took off and flew over to the SW quadrant. The last I saw it was at 9:45am. Photos taken in the NE quadrant. Heard calling numerous times when it was flying around in the early morning. *Never did we flush the bird, we made sure to carefully watch it's behaviour and feeding patterns, we acted accordingly in order to get close*
