Podrobnosti k pozorování
****Mega rarity first reported yesterday. Flying up and down dike, favoring perches on the guard rail. Foraging rather lazily, occasionally dropping down to ground but not seeming to find much in the cool morning temperatures. Made several long flights to opposite ends of dike trail, getting quite high at one point before landing back on the rail. Last seen as it flew up high and landed back on the rail at far west end just before 9:00, then observers at that end lost it soon after and it was not relocated again despite considerable effort and many observers. White underparts, gray back, black cap and face, mostly concealed golden crown patch, extremely long black tail. Very long tail streamers and strongly notched primaries indicate adult male. No gray on flanks, but fairly dark gray back and partial collar seem consistent with nominate. Strongly notched P8 along with P9 and P10 seem to confirm austral migrant T. s. savana. Called briefly as it flew by at one point, a weak series of metallic ticking calls.
