Podrobnosti k pozorování
I arrived at sunrise to see if the Barnacle Goose over-nighted at the pond with Canada Geese. When I arrived there were 1000+ Canada Geese, the Barnacle Goose, Mallards, Buffleheads, Wood Ducks (3 male and 3 female), RIng-necked Ducks, Gadwalls, and Green-winged Teals. Many of the geese had frost on their backs and most were sleeping so I am assuming that they spent the night. At approximately 8:00 AM, groupings came to life as if getting in line in a holding pattern at an airport after deicing. Each smaller flock that made up the huge one, flew off to the East. There was a pause of a few minutes as the nest flock became more alert and flew off also to the East. The Barnacle Goose was in the 7th flock to leave and left at 8:36 AM. I have many photos of this occurrence.
