Podrobnosti k pozorování
This previously-reported gull was seen perched on a buoy about 50 yards off the boat ramp from 7:10-7:35 this morning. It was dislocated by a young Herring Gull and after a few minutes flew away from the lake in the direction of the airport. This bird had a dark gray back and wings with a broad white tertial crescent, white head, neck and underparts with extensive brownish mottling on the head and nape, a yellow bill with a red subterminal spot on the gonys and bright pinkish legs and feet. In flight this bird showed a broad white trailing edge and limited black on the primaries but not an obvious "string of pearls" on the outer primaries on the upperwings and some dark color on the primaries on the underwings that extended narrowly to the base of the outer secondaries as well as a white tail. A photograph of this bird, which was seen with Ron and Marcia Braun from Houston, is set forth below.
