Poznámky
This terrible photo shows the dark grey Catbird with a Black cap. It appeared to be slightly smaller then the many Northern Mockingbirds active in the area.
Podrobnosti k pozorování
Before I arrived people had heard a Gray Catbird singing quietly in the large Walnut Tree(?) covered with wild Grapes at the Northwest corner of the River and Babel Slough Road intersection. At least one or two birders present concentrated on this location until about 11am when Kathy Blankenship finally got a clear view of this bird. Soon after everyone there got to see the Grey Catbird. This bird stayed low in the tree and surrounding bushes and repeated the same route several times. There were some diagonal branches in the open that connected two dense areas where this bird could be seen. Each time it passed through this opening he would pause momentarily:-) That is where my poor photography skills came into play below:-( I do not think the Catbird left this location the entire time of my visit. This is a very secretive bird!
