Observation details
I came upon these 4 birds (2 adult males and 2 adult females) around 2:40 PM while hiking the upper section of Charquin Trail only a few hundred yards down from Skyline Blvd (access via Vista Point parking lot). That quarter mile or so of upper Charquin Trail currently has excellent food sources like Fiddleneck flowers for Lesser Goldfinches and Lawrence's Goldfinches alike and both species were in abundance in this area today feeding, as were Lazuli Bunting. Small finches, the males featured a black face with bright yellow bib, females showed a smaller and duller yellow bib, both genders showed bright yellow wingbars.
