Observation details
When I looked at the time stamps I realized I spent from 10:07 to 11:02 watching this bird, and probably longer because my card filled up as it crossed the path and hung out on the opposite side. 1) learned that sometimes the white patches on the shoulders are extremely visible, almost like when a RWBL flares its patches, and sometimes they seem concealed. This is without question the same bird, and in some photos of the same side the patches are visible, and sometimes not. They remind me of epaulettes. 2) Was surprised to see how long the talons (are they talons on a non-raptor?) are, usually they are hidden underwater.
