Observation details
Scoping to the South from the path that juts out into the water I came upon a large shorebird standing on a floating log. It was uniformly sandy colored with longish dark colored legs and its bill was dark and somewhat long; I eliminated Yellowlegs because this bird's legs were clearly not yellow and its body was not spotted as either Greater or Lesser Yellowlegs would be at this time of year. I watched the bird for about 15 minutes through the scope. During one of the times I looked away to rest my eyes a Raven flew in and displaced the bird. I quickly scanned the surrounding area hoping to see the bird flying but could not relocate it. I later checked the Vantage boat launch area and could not find it there either.
