Media notes
Poor quality image of a Sharp-shinned Hawk seen flying at a great distance near the Electra Road Dam, near Jackson, CA on 4/30/2018.
Observation details
Initially when this bird was spotted at a great distance, my initial impression from far away looking through binoculars was that it was a Cooper's Hawk. But upon review, looking at enlarged images, the tail structure (although ragged) and head projection lend me to believe it is a Sharp-shinned Hawk and the report has been amended to reflect this change.
