NOTES: TEN ACRE CORAL ROCK ISLAND. BIRD MAKES MONOTONOUS 'MOTORBOAT' NOISE AS IT SITS IN A SMALL HOLE IN THE CORAL ROCK. MICROPHONE HAND HELD 2 FT. OVER THE BIRD'S HEAD; IT MADE NO OBJECTION AND RECORDING WAS EASILY MADE. THIS IS A VERY FAINT SOUND Sex: 1 UNKNOWN] GAIN WAS SET AT 75% OF MAXIMUM AND RECORDED LEVEL WAS STILL ONLY -18 DB. BIRD COULD KEEP UP 'MOTORBOAT' NOISE FOR 15-20 MINUTES OR LONGER IN THE FASHION OF A MAINLAND POOR-WILL; Other recordist(s): BREESE P.; Elevation: 1 m.
