Observation details
Continuing. Located by vireo song, faster (sometimes much faster) than Solitary Vireo song. (Note: we didn't use any playback; it is illegal to play recordings of this sensitive species here). Vireo with mostly uniform gray upperparts, slightly darker/browner secondaries and tertials, with pale outer edges to tertials, barely detectable wing bar. Underparts paler grayish white with no sharp contrast between grayer head and whiter throat. Pale thin eye ring, and very faint pale "spectacles", not bold like Plumbeous Vireo. Long tail, which it sometimes flicked around. Faint olive wash on flanks visible in photos. Found 350m ESE of Bob's Gap Rd, south of Holcomb Ridge Rd in the wash; audible from Holcomb Ridge Rd. We walked east to the small pointed-roof house, found bird on the way back west to the car about 740am. Photos and audio recordings.
