Media notes
Still in the same location after the Caspian Terns had left. Thought it might have came in with them.
Observation details
FRS, submitted 04.15.18 Small tern with taller orange legs, white primaries and a white body contrasting more with the gray mantle than a Common Tern's gray body would. Small bill with an orange base and dark tip. Bird was perched on new log on the sandbar. It left once to fly around, after the Ring-billed Gull crowded it, but came back and was stationary in the same position, really only moving to get a drink of water. Was still there when I left. A passing Rough-winged Swallow nearly ran into it. First time one has been seen here and also the first for St. Joseph Co this year, again next to the industrial wasteland.
