Observation details
I was struck by paucity of HOWA, which are so conspicuous earlier in season. This was possibly just one in different locations. Rather unusual song, recorded at close range from PonPon Spur. I did not see the bird, but this matches Pieplow's first figure almost perfectly, albeit missing the last note.
Good discussion at http://www.ilbirds.com/index.php?topic=50540.0 of Hooded using Swainson's song. I think the last comment is most useful, individual variation is common in the songs of warbler species.
