Observation details
Interesting! After not seeing one last week I had suspected that they were gone from this site for the spring and summer. None seen in early Apr last year. I wondered whether timing of presumed altitudinal movement is weather-dependent, and the hanging-on of somewhat wintry conditions this spring has resulted in later movements than last year, or perhaps even upslope movements followed by a return to lower elevations with cold temperatures and fresh snow. Perhaps many more years of data will suggest whether this hypothesis might be correct. TOSO seen at 1302 flying into the top of a Chokecherry ca 15 m N of the stream in reach 2, between the rocky draw and the diversion; it then proceeded to sing relatively loudly. Still present there at 1311.
