Observation details
Two birds found foraging on the ground together in the marshy area off the Basin Trail, a few minutes walk up from where it meets the Interpretive Trail. Dark brownish color, with a shorter tail and thinner bill than grackles. They did not seem bothered by my presence, even when unzipping and rummaging through my backpack to get my camera out. The swampy area is consistent with their habitat, but this was a surprising find as the last logged sighting at this location was in 2011.
