NOTES: Range status: MIGRATION; CHIPS AND SONGS. CHIPS POSSIBLY FROM CARDINALIS CARDINALIS. SPECIMEN RCS64-70. [This recording is a little busy so it is difficult to determine which vocalizations were given by which bird. As far as I can determine, the sweet, chip calls at 0:08, 0:085, and 0:13, and probably the somewhat more buzzy, zeep calls at 0:11, 0:175, 0:36, 0:375, and 0:45 were given by Dendroica castanea, as were the two songs at 0:175 and 0:41. These songs are similar to that pictured in Figure 30D of Borror and Gunn (1985. Songs of the warblers of North America. Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology and Federation of Ontario Naturalists). I am less certain about the identity of the species giving the somehat different songs at 0:075, 0:21, 0:28, and 0:535, but these songs do appear to be given by a differewnt individual. Quality unchanged (2) - CAM - 27 May 2005]. Other Behaviors: Advertise, Court. Habitat: Forest, Deciduous Forest.
