Underparts whitish with thin purplish-gray streaks. Short yellow-green legs. Bill approximately 1.25-1.5X the length of the head (shorter than a Dunlin) with a relatively thick base, tapering significantly and drooping (similar to a Dunlin or Rock Sandpiper). In flight the white wing stripe was quite evident. Flight rattle call similar to that of a Turnstone.
