Observation details
Seen in the last light of day on the edge of the channel. Thought is might be the southernmost Common Eider on record,. but according to Stevenson & Anderson there was one seen at the Dry Tortugas in 1967. NOTE: Brennan Mulroney pointed out that the Dry Tortugas are actually about 4 miles north of where the bird was seen, so I believe this is the southernmost record of the species.
