Media notes
Large flock of Evening Grosbeaks, with multiple vocalizations, perched in and foraging in Russian Olives and nearby junipers. Other species include House Sparrow, House Finch, Woodhouse's Scrub-Jay, Dark-eyed Junco (Oregon), and European Starling. The flight call of the Evening Grosbeak confirms it as a Type 1.
Observation details
Expected subspecies in the northern Rockies. Large flock in the area foraging on juniper berries and russian olive seeds. I obtained recordings and I will upload later, hopefully with a type identification.
