Observation details
Adult non breeding plumage, yellow green legs, dark eye, with dark smudge around eye ,brown gray streaking on head and nape,dark mantle, yellow green like bill with dark shading near tip, white crescent on back contrasting with darkish mantle. No band seen on legs,( known banded Mew gulls seen north of Boston recently). Slightly smaller than Ring billed gulls and much smaller than Iceland and Herring gulls. Mantle color stood out and got David Ludlow on bird.
