Observation details
Heard high, sharp, descending "tip" call at ca 1008 and retraced my steps slightly to the photo point area, where I saw a spot-breasted sparrow perched high in a willow and heard a second "tip" call from its direction; it dropped down too quickly for a photo there. In the vicinity of the perched redpoll and another unidentified passerine (another ATSP?). Somehow I got a photo of an ATSP at some point during this time. By 1019 I had heard a few more very soft "tip" calls N of the stream near the photo point but saw nothing more. On the return I again saw high, descending "tip" calls at the photo point. I heard calls from 2 different places at the same time and got a poor look at one bird perching in shrubs along the stream and once in the Chokecherry row against the hill to the N. Not very conspicuous. At ca 1340, I detected at least 4 ATSP near or N of the stream in reach 4. I ID'd them mostly by sharp, high, descending "tip" calls; at least 3 seen (and photographed) at one time perched high in a lone Chokecherry at the edge of a bench ca 50 m N of the stream. At 1341 I observed 2 flying together from the bush N into the distance.
