Media notes

NOTES: L.F. MAJOR. THELAKE IS A LITTLE LOWER THAN IN JAN., ACCORDING TO MYLES' FIELD NOTEBOOK. THUS, IT CAN BE ASSUMED THAT THE WEATHER IS STILL DRY AND THE RAINS ONLY STARTED. THIS IS MYLES' LONGEST CUT OF A DUET. THERE ARE 3 AND SOMETIMES 4 BIRDS ABOUT. TWO OF THESE BIRDS HAVE BEEN COLOR-RINGED (BANDED) BY MYLES. ONE IS DOUBLE GREEN (GG) AND THE OTHER IS DOUBLE RED (RR). AT THE BEGINNING OF THE CUT GG WAS SNARLING; RR DID NOTHING. AT ONE POINT GG APPEARS TO BE DOING BOTH FLUTE NOTES. THEN COMES THE LONG PERIOD OF DUETTING BETWEEN GG AND AN UNMARKED BIRD. BIRDS WERE 1M APART. ACCORDING TO MYLES NOTEBOOK, W.H. THORPE FEELS THAT GG IS DOING THEHIGHER E FLAT AND THE UNMARKED BIRD THE LOWER B FLAT. 3-4 ADULT(S); MALE; FEMALE. Habitat: Forest, Lake.
